Come join many dancing students and Bachata enthusiasts for a night of learning beginning to intermediate Bachata dancing with open floor dancing till Midnight. You can RSVP through our groups as we have scheduled all groups to go on the First Wednesday of each month or just show up any week and make some new friends. Come join for our only stop on Highlands Ran ch this summer. We’ll be treated to the music of Amanda V’s Material Girl, a cover band playing mostly Madonna songs and other from the 80’s. We’ll carpool from the parking lot across the street from the Phillips 66 gas station just west of C470 on Morrison Road. Please be there no later than 8 am and bring some cash to contribute towards gas for our volunteer drivers. If you are coming from the mountains or Colorado Sprngs, please arrive at Browns Canyon Rafting by 9:45 am. Everyone needs to bring an entire change of clothing, (and a towel), to wear home, as it may be a wild, wet ride. You must reserve your spot by clicking the “Secure your spot” link above. Other than our Red, White and You evening on July 3rd, this will be our only other visit to Clement Park Amphitheatre this summer. We will be enjoying the music of “Crystal Visions”, a Fleetwod Mac Cover Band. Admission is free. RSVP through one of our groups so we can save you a spot with other singles.
Sunday, June 29th 11pm-4 pm, Dekoevend Park, Gourmet Barbecue
Join us for a fun and tasty time outdoors. We will provide nearly everything. All you will need to bring is a lawn chair, sunscreen and any outdoor games you would like to share. We’re serving upscale angus burgers, brats and dogs, (including veggie burgers), on various Brioche buns. Toppings available include 4 types of cheeses, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, relish, mayo, ketchup, 2 kinds of mustard and lettuce. There will also be some guacamole, sour cream and salsa to make the best burger or dog you’ll eat all summer. We’re also serving up 6 side dishes including our Back Country Homemade Potato Salad, our homemade country coleslaw, a caprese watermelon salad, a fiesta salad, sliced fruit and a surprise side. We’ll have some sweets available as well as some chips. Refreshments will include ice water, lemonade and iced tea.
Admission is only $25 cash at the door. Present your 5280 Discounts card and get $5 off or purchase a card and admission at the door for only $40, (a $55 value). We are inviting 5 groups to come, but if you have a group you would like to invite, please let us know. We will also need 8 volunteers to work a one-hour shift either checking people in or working the grill. Please contact the organizer at least a week before the event if you wish to volunteer.
Tuesday, July 1st, 6 pm, Concerts at the Crescent
We will start July off with one of the area’s top bands, “The Six Million Dollar Band” They play mostly 80’s music. Bring your own lawn chair food and beverages and get ready to do some dancing.
Thursday, July 3rd, 5-10 pm, Red, White and You, Clement Park Amphitheater.
It’s that time again to celebrate our country’s 249th birthday. We’ll meet on the west side, nearest the lake around 5 pm. You can bring your own food and beverages with your lawn chair and sunscreen or purchase food and drinks there. We’ll picnic till 7:00 pm, then dance and enjoy a performance by That Eighties Band. The fireworks will start around 9:15 pm. The band may play a few more songs we can dance to while we wait for traffic to clear. Admission is free, please get there before 7 pm to find the group. Friday, July 4th, 4pm, Thornton 4th of July Spectacular
We’ll set up near the main stage for the 4 pm concert from the Six Million Dollar Band. Then we will search for food and drinks from the dozens of vendors while some may venture over to the City Stage to check out the band’ “Hot Lunch” starting at 5:30 pm. At 7 pm, the headliner, “Kory Brunson Band”, will perform until dark. The fun continues as we will watch parachutist deliver Old Glory followed by a fantastic fireworks display. Admission is free, so RSVP through one of our Meetup Groups so you will be able to find other singles from our groups.
Sunday, July 6th, 4 pm. City Park Jazz Festival
Why not close out the holiday weekend with free concert in the park? Tonight’s band will be the Chris Daniels Band”, playing a wide variety of familiar tunes for us. They will have literally dozens of food trucks there if you wish to not bring anything besides a lawn chair. Get there early to find the groups and parking within a mile of the Pavillion. Grab your tropical party gear for an evening with the Margarita Brothers. They will be playiing mostly Jimmy Buffet and Beach Boy tunes, but sometimes throw in additional songs from the 60’s and 70’s. Tropical/Hawaiian attire optional. Saturday, July 12th 5-8 pm, July Singles Mixer, Rock Rest Lodge, Golden
Come out and meet a whole bunch of people at our oversized singles mixer. Admission is only $20 cash at the door and includes a finger food buffet with a scavenger hunt team builder where you can win valuable prizes and make a few new friends. Doors open at 5 pm, where there will be a meet and greet happy hour till 6 or so. Then food comes out by 6:15 and by 6:45 we will be breaking into groups of 4 for the hunt. Each team will have 60 minutes to find all the answers and complete all the tasks to win prizes for all members of their team. Present your 5280 Discounts Card to save $5 off admission. Come out to south Aurora to hear the incredible music from one of Denver’s favorite bands, “Wash Park”. Bring a lawn chair, soft drinks and food if you like. No outside alcohol allowed, but you can purchase those drinks from a few vendors there and carry them around the common areas.
Saturday, July 19th, The Orchards Town Center
Get ready for a fun Saturday night experiencing the music of the Petty/Nicks Experience. They will be playing music from the Tom Petty Band and Fleetwood Mac. Bring a lawn chair and nothing else as outside food and beverages are not allowed. The have some great choices from the restaurants at the venue for you to choose from. Get there early to get your food or beverage orders in before the show. Space is extremely tight, so please RSVP through one of our Meetup groups so we can save you a spot.
Thursday, July 24th 6 pm Flatirons Crossings Mall Free Concert
Come up north and dance to one of our favorite dance bands, “Thumpin'”. You can bring your lawn chiar and your cooler in to dine and dance in the courtyard. Get there early and park near the Crate and Barrel, as there is a lot of new construction going on there and parking is limited. Friday, July 25th, 5 pm Louisville Street Faire
Join us for a special night as we venture to Louisville for the first time ever to partake in their Street Faire. The main attraction among the many things they will have there is a musical performance by Firefall around 5 pm. Admission to the Faire is free but get there early for parking and to find our group. We’ll finish off our busy July with a laid-back, smooth jazz offering by Denver’s own “Dotsero”. You can bring lawn chair or blankets to relax on. they usually have a few food trucks if you don’t want to bring your own food and beverages. Saturday, September 6th, 2:45-10 pm, Upscale Happy Hour and Full Moon Hike, Garden of the Gods.
Come join us for annual full moon hike at the Garden of the Gods. For those of us in the Denver metro area, we will carpool from the Cabelas in Lone Tree in the afternoon and visit one of Colorado’s fanciest happy hours at the Flying Horse Steakhouse in the Springs. Happy hour is from 4-6 pm, so we then head over to the Garden of the Gods Park for a little sunset picture taking. The moon should start rising by 8 pm and be high enough to grab some more terrific photos by 8:30 pm. The park closes at 10 pm, but we should be back in Lone Tree by then unless some of us decide to party a little at the Red Leg Tavern afterwards. Bring your best camera as we may be lucky enough to get a poster quality shot of the moon. In case of inclement weather, we can still do the Flying Horse Happy hour.
